Man Date

"Daddy, we need to go a man date. We have never gone in a long time." Daddy smiles and stifles the laughter threatening to appear. "Oh ya? What would Momma do?" "Oh, she can stay home!"

Man Dates are extremely important. M looks forward to them, asks for them all the time. And who wouldn't? The opportunity to spend time with the man who loves him more than life itself.
It might sound silly, but it works. When The Hubs takes the time to be with M, just the two of them, I can literally watch M stand a little taller, smile a little bigger, laugh a little louder and feel like the special little boy that he is.
Often times man dates are not complicated. They go for an exploratory walk (M is a big fan of exploring) on the trail across the street from our house, go to the movies or to Old McDonald's (McDonald's).
Complicated or not though, they are so important. These are the times that Daddy's love is locked in, proving forever, building hope and teaching Godly manhood.
Little boys look up to their fathers. I am so glad that M and I have been blessed with a man who loves us and takes the time to show us just how much.

What do you do with your kids? How do you create special moments? (I am always up for ideas).
