Choose.
Choose you this day whom you will serve.
Everyday I hope. I hope for good choices. My hands sit on his soft curls. A prayer escapes my lips... Lord, help him today. Help him to choose. And I send him off. Packing his Iron Man backpack, two sizes too big and a grin on his face.
My heart hopes. Today will be a good day. After he is gone I sit down. To pray. Asking the only one who has control. Oh please, today, let him choose right.
Driving to meet him I plan out my answer. I choose. What will I say? If it was another hard day. Will I smile? Be happy just to be with him again? Or will I grit my teeth in frustration? His choice is important. But so is mine. Can I choose grace? So that he can. Can I choose love? When my blood boils and my heart weighs heavy with disappointment?
