Five Minute Friday - Glue

My mind fills with memories. Of childhood. Sweet, precious memories. You wouldn't think that glue could hold such fond memories. But it does. I see me and my little brother. I am tormenting playing with him. With Angel glue.  My arms are wrapped around him in a giant bear hug. Or some other constricting move. Get off me! I just smile. I can't. I am angel glued. He moans or sighs or gives some other indication that I am the bane of his existence. Music to every big sister's ears. And then he wriggles and squirms like a fish out of water. Trying to break free from the hold of angel glue. Angel glue has powerful, almost magical properties. It can not be unstuck. Like super glue but stronger.
A smile crosses my face as I remember the moments. Big sister bliss. And I smile as I think that M is learning about angel glue. That someday he will teach his brothers and sisters. Maybe it will go on forever. Or maybe not. Either way I am grateful for angel glue. The memories made and yet to be.

  2. The word glue brings back memories for me, too. Mostly school days. The way glue dried and peeled off your hands. The smell of it.
    Happy Easter to you!

    1. I think that the right of tormenting younger siblings is one of the best things about being an older sibling. :)
