Five Minute Friday - Willing

I willing to do so many things. I want to do so many things. But then I look at my life and in practice how much do I do? Honestly, not as much as I would like.
It brings to mind the scripture, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. And oh boy is my flesh weak!
I planned to observe Lent during this season. I am not Catholic but felt the desire to set aside a time of determined focus on the Lord. Already I have failed. My willingness to participate has not resulted in any actual movement.
I frustrate myself. At my lack of ability to follow through on so many things. But I am grateful for new days and endless mercy to begin again. Today is a new day. Today, with God's help I will turn my willingness into action.

  1. Hello new friend! I'm stopping by today from Five Minute Friday. Yes, indeed, the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. I will be praying for you today as you give your willing heart to the Lord and seek to serve Him! May His grace and mercy strengthen you and encourage you today.

    1. Thanks for the prayers. I appreciate it. :)

  2. Hi! Here from FMF. I talked about this same scripture on my post today. I understand. I love that we get to start fresh each day. Have a wonderful weekend.
